The architect of the new mosque in Kazan, Evgeny Bolotny, designed it with multiple references to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu-Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, acclaimed as a masterpiece of modern Islamic architecture, is famous for its luxurious décor. Bolotny also stressed expensive natural materials and sophisticated finishing processes in his design.
The façade catches the eye with its carved décor details and intricately ornamented marble stone finishing. The majestic dome is inlaid with smalto mosaic featuring 24 carat gold leaf.
We are proud to have contributed brass decorations to the new mosque’s interior and exterior splendor.
The Brass Workshop manufactured and installed 12 running meters of openwork brass fence, each section being a composite of three framed elements.
- 34 stair balusters, each consisting of 3 parts: the finely molded heel, the ornamental part, and the handrail rest,
- 6 window balusters,
- 17 decorative floor gratings and 2 floor trapdoors.
We had all this very substantial amount of deliverables ready within the shortest conceivable time, in less than a month.
The installation process did not go easy as finishing work was in full swing inside the new mosque. This notwithstanding, our team completed the job before the Islamic festival of Kurban Bayram commenced.
